On Monday Phil visited CCAR for a short while. He was greeted with a loud cheer as he entered his office; staff hugged and welcomed him back. What a bittersweet moment.
During the visit, Phil said something that stuck, “I want to leave a legacy that people in recovery from alcohol and other addiction, people in recovery from cancer, we do survive and we go on to do extraordinary things." He sure is showing that it is so possible.
This walk is the first of its kind as far as we know. We at CCAR are so proud and excited for Phil. We wish him the best as he continues the rest of the 700 miles ahead. Below are some pictures from the office visit and the hike the following day.
